Hey Chennaiites, this one goes out to you! Most of the time, you find yourself in the city, not realizing the marvellous discoveries that have carved a place for themselves, as unnoticed, yet brilliant ideas. I spent the last month in Chennai, frantically trying to keep pace with the galloping city – and there it struck me, two of the most fabulous ideas that we welcomed happily, but never actually took the time to admire their brilliance.
1. Presennnnnting……THE SHARE AUTO!
A convenient, cheap and comfortable option for all you lucky gals. Emerging as a newly accepted form of public transport, the multi-seater share auto is a win-win option for both the driver and the passengers. Whereas normal auto rickshaws charge no less than hundred bucks for an even ‘walk-a-dog’ distance ride, the share auto provides an economically viable alternative (especially if your only income translates to your pocket money) Andddd the almost ensured presence of many others around you in the same auto keeps you safe, even late into the night. Cool? I thought so too. So next time you rush into a share auto, fold your hands, close your eyes and yell out a thank you to that one genius auto driver who ages ago, thought of bringing this revolution to Chennai.
2. THE SCOOTER DUPATTA
Unless you’re starring in a Katrina Kaif commercial where you just can’t stand veiling your beautiful face, you would have resorted to the quintessential dupatta. By covering your face from the scorching sun, (and by offering an even better advantage of letting you roam with any guy you want FEARLESSLY :D), the dupatta is sure to save your day. Apart from this, it also protects you from the pollution in the city, and keeps you healthy, beautiful and gloss! Though you must take care of it while riding the two-wheeler itself by carefully tucking in and not allowing it to go gaga in the wind, the dupatta is undoubtedly a life-saver in terms of offering protection to your face from any sort of anything – be it the sun, the evil stares of the auntyji next door or your ex-boyfriend!
